Anders walked them down the laneway toward a big concrete building. He was practically rubbing his hands in excitement.

“Alright, so we've got three of the top vaults installed here. Temporarily, of course. The building has multiple entrances, a maze of useless rooms, and I've also managed to put a rudimentary security system in.”

“That's quite an achievement,” Maya said. “Did you expect all this, Eduardo?”

“I did. In fact, if Anders didn't bring it, I was going to insist on him doing it properly. But this looks good.”

“Okay, great. What is our plan then?” Maya said. “I mean, I know the plan, but how am I going to play this today?”

“There are multiple entrances, so we're going to take one each. Anders is going to wait outside as support and come in when required.”

“Okay. Got it.

“Now every second teleport we should cross teleport to anchor the locations. That way we will increase our ability to adapt to the situation, but also return to specific points in the future as required.”

“Awesome. What else?”

“Anders, are you able to simulate some kind of alarm or security breach halfway through?”

“I could do something.” Anders looked like he was concentrating. “Yeah, I can make something up. I mean, with what we already have in the building.”

“Great. Maya, we're going to both meet at the vaults for the vault hacking. So we both get experience with the tool, but in the real heist we may not do that at the same time as a security precaution.”

“I understand, there's going to be a few differences to the final heist.” Maya slowed, as they were now in front of the building.

“It's dark enough. Everyone's gone home in the area, and we have the building to ourselves. Let's give this a go. I will take the rear of the building and Maya can take the closer door. And we'll be in touch over the radio.”

“Good luck,” Maya said.

“You too.” Eduardo disappeared. Maya spotted him reappear alongside the building and disappear again.

“How's your teleportation going? Are you gonna forgo walking soon?” Anders said.

“Not that soon, but I can see it as a possibility in the future, if I really want to.”

“I think you'll miss walking too much.”

“I guess we'll have to see.”

“The door you want to attempt to access is down there. You've got the security pass and you can call me on the radio.”

“Thanks, Anders. Let's see how we go.” Maya waved and then teleported down to the door Anders had pointed out.

There was a nondescript door with a security card reader. Maya fished out the security pass and waved it over the reader. The door unlocked and she slipped inside, closing it carefully behind her. Once inside, she put the WallSpy goggles on, activating the unit so she could see normally.

She was in a large, cavernous space with a few doors along a wall to her right. She looked around for any security and then walked carefully over to the three doors.

“Trying doors,” she said over the radio. The first one she attempted to open was locked.
